General Information

  • Below you will find information on the dive site, minimum qualification required, where to meet, what time to be there, what's included and what to bring.
  • Tanks and weights are included in all of our boat dive charters. Our shop in Hobart has a full rental facility. The only thing we don't include is gloves, and yes, we highly suggest them.

Flowerpot Point

  • Minimum Qualification: Open Water
  • Maximum Depth: 12 meters
  • Where to meet: Kingston Beach Boat Ramp, Osborne Esplanade Kingston TAS 7050
  • Time to meet: 5:30pm
  • What's included: 1 boat dive, tanks and weights
  • Dive site information: Located just 5 minutes boat ride from Kingston Beach, Flowerpot point is a great little dive site with something to offer every diver. A small kelp forest is present, with depths ranging from 3 - 12 meters. We usually find the site is streaming with fish life and is great for a cray or two. Visibility can vary, as it is at the end of the Derwent River visibility can be anything from 2 - 8 meters. Certainly a favourite amoungst locals. 

Bull Bay

  • Minimum Qualification: Open Water
  • Maximum Depth: 12 Meters
  • Where to meet: Dru Point Boat Ramp, 20-22 Esplanade, Margate TAS 7054
  • Time to meet: 5:30pm
  • What's included: 1 boat dive, tanks and weights
  • Dive site information: Bull Bay is located at the northern tip of Bruny Island just 20 minutes boat ride from Dru Point. Here we dive along a sloped wall, weaving between cracks and boulders. Kelp covers the bottom which meets the sand line at around 12 meters deep. Visibility can range from 2 - 10 meters depending on conditions. 

Iron Pot

  • Minimum Qualification: Open Water
  • Maximum Depth: 16 Meters
  • Where to meet: Dru Point Boat Ramp, 20-22 Esplanade, Margate TAS 7054
  • Time to meet: 5:30pm
  • What's included: 1 boat dive, tanks and weights
  • Dive site information: Located 35 minutes boat ride from Dru Point, the Iron Pot certainly doesn't disappoint. A small island supporting just a lighthouse makes a perfect dive site location. Strands of kelp rise from 12 meters, with hidden caves and lots of fish life. The Iron Pot, supplies picturesque views of Mount Wellington and magical sunsets. Being that is located a fair way away the weather needs to be favourable, however it is certainly worth the trip.

Garden Ledge

  • Minimum Qualification: Open Water
  • Maximum Depth: 18 Meters
  • Where to meet: Dru Point Boat Ramp, 20-22 Esplanade, Margate TAS 7054
  • Time to meet: 5:30pm
  • What's included: 1 boat dive, tanks and weights
  • Dive site information: Perhaps our furthest away afternoon location, at nearly 45 minutes boat ride from Dru Point Garden Ledge awaits. Located at the edge of Trumpeter Bay, Bruny Island Garden Ledge drops straight to 18 meters at the cliffs edge. We begin our dive along the wall, heading down the coast. With excellent fish life and visibility usually 5 - 15 meters this site offers an excellent afternoon dive. As we are diving on the cliffs edge, a torch is highly recommend for this site.

Alum Cliffs

  • Minimum Qualification: Open Water
  • Maximum Depth: 9 meters
  • Where to meet: Kingston Beach Boat Ramp, Osborne Esplanade Kingston TAS 7050
  • Time to meet: 5:30pm
  • What's included: 1 boat dive, tanks and weights
  • Dive site information: Located merely minutes from Kingston Beach boat ramp, the Alum Cliffs awaits you. A shallow dive site from 4 - 9 meters, it certainly makes for a easy dive. Following the sloped bottom along, until you hit the sand line. You can pick your depth and explore the bottom, often with schools of fish around you. Staying closer in you can see where the coast has been cut out underneath with many little cut ins and the odd Port Jackon Shark sleeping in them. Being mostly in the shade, a torch is highly recommend for this site.

Mystery Box Boat Dive

  • Dive site information: Well, well, well. So you want to know where we'll be going and what we'll be seeing? That's too bad. Because we don't know! We wait until we're on the boat, we will pick a direction and head to whatever is looking good. Sometimes its good and sometimes its bad. But mostly, it's great fun!
    Join us on a Mystery Box Boat Dive and explore new sites that you probably would never have thought to dive. If it turns out to be a great dive, you will have the pleasure of naming it so we can come back regularly.
