Course Booking Conditions
All course participants must meet the following requirements and agree to the terms below:
Eligibility
- Participants must be at least 12 years old, unless enrolling in programs like Bubble Makers or Seal Team (minimum age: 8).
- You must have your own transport for the duration of the course.
- Many dive sites are located within National Parks. Please ensure you obtain a valid parks pass
Parks Pass:
👉 https://passes.parks.tas.gov.au - All courses are taught in English only. For safety reasons, no translation is permitted — no exceptions.
Medical and Swim Requirements
- You must complete a medical questionnaire. Depending on your responses, you may be required to obtain clearance from a doctor.
- If you are 45 years or older, a diving medical with a doctor is mandatory.
- You must be able to swim 200 metres and float for 10 minutes unassisted.
- These tests are conducted on Day 1 of the course.
- Failure to pass will result in course cancellation without refund.
- Not bringing swim gear is not a valid excuse.
- Re-testing may be scheduled at an additional fee of $150/hour (minimum 1 hour, calculated from staff departure and return to Hobart).
Payments, Refunds & Rebooking
- A non-refundable deposit of $245 per person applies to all course bookings.
- Cancellations within 30 days of the original booking are eligible for a partial refund:
Example: $645 course – $245 deposit = $400 refund - No refunds will be given within 14 days of the course start date, regardless of reason.
- If you fail a diving medical and provide documentation to info@godivetassie.com.au, you will receive a partial refund, less the $245 deposit.
Combo Course Refunds
If you cancel a Combo Course (a multi person package) but wish to downgrade to a lower-value course instead of cancelling completely, we will calculate your refund based on the difference in course values, minus the non-refundable $245 deposit.
Example:
You booked a 4 Person Combo Course valued at $1999, but decide to downgrade to a 3 Person Combo Course valued at $1575.
- Price difference: $1999 – $1575 = $424
- Less non-refundable deposit: $424 – $245 = $179 refund
So, your total refund would be $179.
The refund will be provided to the original purchaser and payment method.
Please note: No refunds will be given for combo course cancellations made within 14 days of the course start date.
Date Changes & No Shows
- Changing course dates within 14 days of the start date will incur a $245 rebooking fee per person.
This can be done once only. Further changes require full course re-payment.
- Not attending or not completing the course will also incur a $245 rebooking fee (valid once within 12 months).
After that, full payment is required for re-enrolment.
Course Access & Communication
- After booking, we will contact you via email or phone to confirm your details and issue access to your online learning materials.
- Please check your spam/junk folder. If you do not hear from us, it is your responsibility to contact info@godivetassie.com.au.
- You will be required to complete waiver and participant forms before the course start date. These are mandatory — no exceptions.
Buy Now – Choose Dates Later (Gift Voucher Conditions)
- This option is treated as a gift voucher, valid for 3 years from the date of purchase.
- To redeem, you must provide the original receipt, which contains all necessary information to confirm your booking.
