Go Dive Tasmania
is proud to announce that we have teamed up with The Pressure Project who will be bringing it’s long running experience in the Freediving Industry to Tasmanian waters. We can offer from Padi Freediver (level 1) to Padi Freedive Instructor level.

Freediving is about inward power, discipline and control. If you’ve always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Taking the PADI Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.

What makes us different?

We focus on quality and strive to offer the best in every aspect of our training. Our instructors are PADI Master Level with years of teaching experience all around Australia. We always conduct the required confined water (pool) training sessions and utilise specially designed dive boats to take you to stunning locations completely inaccessible by land. With over 20 years experience diving the Tasmanian coastline, we take your PADI Freediver experience to the next level unrivalled anywhere else in Tasmania.

Course Structure:

Theory Evening - We meet at Go Dive Tasmania (67 Argyle Street, Hobart) at 5pm to complete paperwork with Freediving theory, followed by a breath workshop. Here you'll learn to understand your body's natural urges with breathing and relaxation techniques to help you stay down longer safely.

Day 1 – We start at 9am with confined water session at the pool. There we’ll practice static breath hold, dynamic apnea, and run through duck dives and safety in preparation for the Ocean.

Day 2 – This is where we complete the double dive in the ocean and look to complete the Padi open-water Freediving requirements. Constant weight with fins, free immersion, and practice our rescue whilst also getting to explore the wonders of the Ocean and its wildlife.

During the course I felt fully supported, by everyone involved. The coaches were down to earth, friendly, and passionate about diving. They were more than happy, to answer any questions, and supported us through every step. I achieved more than I ever thought possible, and would highly recommend others to do it. You come out with new friends, new habits, and become part of a bigger community!

    The Pressure Project is awesome!

I have completed all of my Freedive Training with The Pressure Project; starting with PADI Freediver at Mount Gambier (SA), the PADI Advanced freediver at Lady Elliot Island (QLD) and PADI Master Freediver in Amed, Bali. Adam, Francisco and the entire crew are such a knowledgeable and supportive bunch, and once you've done a course with The Pressure Project you'll be part of a tribe, with opportunities to take your freediving further. So glad they're now offering courses in Tasmania, with Francisco heading up the local training. 🤙🏼👌🏼💙

    Amazing experience

Just finished my free diving weekend and it was the best mental and physical challenge I have ever attempted . I learned to hold my breath underwater for over 3 minutes and comfortably dive past 12m deep. Not something I ever thought I would be able to do. Kaeo was a fantastic teacher and I can't wait to do a lot more free diving. I cannot recommend this course enough to anyone interested.
